MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative
Sustainability Internships
Our sustainability internship programs empower students to take action.
By supporting our students to take on impact-oriented internships, they can work with leading organizations to implement sustainability strategies that advance equity, inclusion, emissions reductions, ESG measurement, and more. These programs provide an important opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned at MIT, to real-world sustainability challenges.

Sustainability Initiative Internship Program
The Sustainability Initiative, in partnership with the MIT Sloan Career Development Office, identifies high-caliber sustainability-oriented internships and provides financial support to enable students to take on these roles. The internships are summer-long positions for first-year MBA's, with the grants made possible by donations from alumni and a match by participating companies.
Positions are shared with students in February, and are accessible to MIT Sloan MBA's via the MySloan CDO "Career Central" portal.

Sloan Social Impact Fund
Co-managed by Net Impact and the Sustainability Initiative, the MIT Sloan Social Impact Fund fellowships provide funding to a limited number of students taking on important societal challenges during their summer internship period. Students apply in April of their first year, and awards are announced in early May. Funding is provided by the Dean’s Office and contributions from classmates. These internships are self-sourced.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to spend time in the field in the spectacular coffee landscapes of Java and Bali, and work on a variety of projects that deepened my understanding of measuring sustainability in agriculture.
